If they're selling your music without permission get your legal counsel onto them. Also contact Visa / Mastercard to request they withdraw credit card facilities.

Why? I doubt they will be selling anyone's music who posts here. They are not breaking the law since they are in Russia. I'm going to take what I can while it's still up.

It's one thing to not care if your music is being pirated, it's another to take advantage of such a site, which obviously isn't going to be paying out any royaltees to the artists that deserve it.

Most artist don't make money from royalties, and even when they do it's such a fundamentally small percentage that it amounts to little. People pirate stuff - deal with it. If you don't like it, don't use it. It's never a good idea to force your opinion onto others or to try and rally people to act the way you want them to. The facts are that these guys aren't breaking the law and they are only trying to make a quick buck. I've got no problems with that :-/
I've never believed music should be a 'product' and frankly I don't give a shit about taking a few fractions of a cent from Nelly's millions. Of course if you really want to support an artist you maybe you want find the best way of doing that, but I wouldn't loose sleep over downloading a few Madonna, Metalica tracks. Not that I listen to them :-D

i'm going to relink your webpage to a horse porn site, but don't worry, nobody really visits your site anyway, so i don't see any reason it should bother you

Wow what bravado! The fact that you can't even recognise that they are breaking the law shows how staggeringly ignorant you are.

not only are they breaking the law but they are distributing music of inferior quality. I mean do you guys even listen to 192kbps MP3s god forbid play them in a club. And who encoded these files for all we know most of the catalogue could have come off slsk!

i've already posted my manifesto on this subject on the aldj board, but just to chip in my super important perspective:

musicians who expect to get paid for recorded music are wrong

taking music you didn't record and selling it (especially without permission) is even more wrong....

before any of you jump down my throat for not explaining my position (as if anyone really cared) this thread: ( http://www.abletonlivedj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4088 ) covers everything you need to know
