reason 3.0/live lite 6 not talking?

Hi everyone, I'm new to the forums, and I caught this one because I am having a rewire issue with live lite 6 and reason 3; I cannot get ableton to rewire at all. It does not even have reason as an input on the input section of the audio channels. I can't get a straight answer as to if rewire is disabled in live lite 6, but I have heard that it works fine in live lite 5, so it seems like 6 should work. Does anyone have any thoughts? I am running os x 10.4.8, reason 3 and live lite 6. My mac is a core 2 duo, 1 gig of RAM.
I have read all tutorials on rewire that I can find, rewire always has worked fine on my PC system.
When I start reason after opening ableton, I get the message "please reinstall reason to make sure the reason engine is working correctly" and I have to quit Reason. Reason works fine outside of live, but crashes when live is open, and even so, it seems that live has nothing for rewiring in it (IE, I only see the input selections for the built in input, etc, but no rewire apps). I have also noticed that if I open garageband 3 and then attempt to open reason, I get the same message as explained above... could this be a reason, or ableton issue?
Any input would be appreciated, as I'm really confused and annoyed. Thanks guys!
