In version 6 i get a tone sound coming from nowhere it appears
you can see the master us register the sound, but i have no idea where its coming from or what is making it make this sound, its not just in old live 5 projects, its with new stuff as well
however when i first open live up it doesnt do it until i start trying to make a track and playing clips, then once started, it wont stop even if i am no longer playing clips???
this is very frustrating? any help ??
cheers!

Maybe you have some demo version of some plugin? Maybe not, but they do that sometimes.

I was actually wondering wether its a demo thing built into Live.6
I have a paid copy of live 5.2 on my lappy, and recently just loaded a freeware copy of 6 onto my desktop just to see if its worth paying for the upgrade just yet
but have had nothing but problems with this sound since I have started trying to use 6. I am thinking its probably cause its a crack, but justt wanted to check
I will probably buy 6 anyway, but jeez i will be pissed if i shell out for the upgrade and that doesnt fix it!
cheers

At least the demo version of Live6 (full version without save functionality) doesn't have any clicks.. it's only that you're not able to save. I don't know about cracks though..
If you have some external sound card, you should try to run Live with just some built-in stuff and see if the beeps comes then.
You also said you have some "freeware" copy of Live. You should try to download the demo version of Live 6 from their site and check if the same thing occurs with that one.

sound happens without any plugs , just audio playing back, so must be an issue with the soundcard....motu traveller ...
will try out just the demo and see if it still occurs, thats a good point... it is a crack, i guess i didnt think i could load one of my full live 5 projects with a demo of 6, will try that tonite,
this pay i am buying 6 regardless i am a live fanatic, have been since v.3, i just always have trouble getting my pc to love it like i do

ediT; mind you i think alot of my trouble comes from motu and their lack of driver update support

ok have updated motu drivers
uninstalled the crac, and loaded the demo of live 6
and again am getting this tone coming out the master buss i am pretty sure, once it starts it happens every minute or so, ...highly frustrating
i started a fresh project and it seemed fine, didnt get this sound
as soon as i load up a live 5 project it starts to happen, i have flatten everything so its all audio, still it happens...

It simple. If you use a crack, then you have an out of date version of Live thats is full of bugs.
You get what you pay for.
Buy the upgrade or try the demo. Don't judge an application by its crack.
Especially this one

Do you get the sound when you start a fresh project in Live 6 and create something there, or is it just when you load Live 5 projects?
I also had problems with my Presonus Firepod, I'm sure it's often driver related with external soundcards..
If your Live 6 project (that you created from scratch) still makes the pop, then try with some internal or other sound card so you can isolate the problem.

Isn't there some kind of interesting protection that Ableton uses? Like if you use a crack, then all of the tracks that you create with the crack can become corrupted after a certain amount of time? It sounds like this what may be what happened? The LIVE 6 "freeware" may have corrupted the tracks in question, as it seems that new tracks in the demo are fine?

dude did you even read my last post!
climb down off the high horse

i love ableton and will always pay for it
will try disabling the external soundcard (motu traveller) and opening a live 5 project with the live 6 demo using the onboard soundcard and see if i still get it, thats a good idea cheers
as I said when it happens it seems to be just coming from the master buss somehow, even tho nothings on it and I have flattened all my tracks to audio, so theres no possibility of it being a plugin with an lfo or something generating this sound by itself???
i am very confused on this one, I have had motu issues in t he past, but was totally different to this... before i would get a much louder schreeching buzzing clicking sound for 15 seconds and everything else would cut out
when this new ..softer tone comes out it doesnt stop anything playing back??
any help or suggestions appreciated!
cheers
