Live6: clicks and pops all the time!

Hi,
I just upgraded to Live6, but I am really dissapointed.
I use Live all the time to play live music, and with Live5 everything worked perfectly at buffer size 256.
But with Live6, I hear clicks and pops though my audio all the time (like every 10 seconds) when playing, even at buffer size 512! The clicks are not on the recording, they are there when I play live (which i do all the time).
Maybe the problem isnt the buffer size, I dont know, I hope someone else knows how to solve this...
Thanks a lot

Hmm this is the second thread in which I ask this... I get no responses... No one has the same problem as I have? Even if you dont have it i'd be glad to hear it.
Thanks :)

You have to give more information....

Are you using an external soundcard, or internal?

You might try to trash your preferences file, as well. But back it up first.

Apple or PC?

If you give more information, people can help you better.

Best,
AB

Thanks for the reply
Sorry i forget to add this information.
This is what i use:

macbook 2ghz, 2gb ram
soundcard: firebox

I already contacted live's support and they also said i had to delete my preferences, which I did, but it didn't make a difference. I replied that a few days ago, but havent got an answer yet.

Aren't there other options related to performance in 6?
Like perhaps you have delay compensation running in 6 and not in 5?

No, I have everything set the same as I had in Live5.
Another annoying thing is that almost every time I want to open a project in Live6, it shuts down randomly, after 3 times it mostly works, sometimes not then I have to restart. I dont know what it is, maybe its something with my computer, or am i not the only one having these troubles?
Thanks

Hi I have the Same Problem like you.. I used to work with logic. And there for example i could open 5 instances of reaktor session an play live!!!! Now with live 6 its over. I cant even play with one instrument live! I think that Live 6 use a lot more of recources and my G5 dual 2ghz with 3 gb ram is to slow?!? Oh god i hope not!!

brms, do you have 3rd party plug ins installed? That shut down error when you launch Live sounds like a dodgy plug in crashing your program.

Yes I have 3rd party plugins, but it seems that it doesnt matter which plugins I use, the problem is always there if I have just a few plugins loaded, doesnt matter which ones. Thanks for reply anyway.

same story here...with a g5 dual 1.8 and 3giga of ram...hd sata...UAD pci card...
the disk indicator goes red...clicks...pops.....crashes...
disconnected the UAD...same....very floppy timing too....impossible to play instruments...after few days of paranoia and running all the scripts of onyx...bounced all the instruments...consolidated everything I see on the screen...now no pops anymore...still crashes but less often...but now is like a multitrack digital recorder...no fun...but I can finish my tune...the last I will do on Live until they fix it...from now on I will use it as a tool to sync loops and finish my projects in the more stable Cubase (can't believe I am saying that!)...
in the end now I need to use 2 or 3 softwares to get one project working right....
(and still rewire is a slogan)....probably soon I will need 3 computers...ahahah-

peace

same problem here. during audio playback the cursor jumps to the beginning or to the end of the loop, causing this clicking & popping. it's very annoying. I need a solution by yesterday ;-)

Mac Powerbook G4, 1,67
2Gigs Ram
audio from external disc
disk defragmentated, everythings' fine

forgot to say: i'm running Live 6.0.3

and I found out: it happens every 2 bars, no matter what tempo. the cursor jumps
and it clicks. btw: I'm speaking here of one single loop, should not be a great deal though...anybody else?

never had this problems with previous versions. and I can't open my session in Live 5.2.2. because it was created in Live 6

IT IS REALLY ANNOYING! I have gigs to play with it and I don't wanna have any clicks on stage, come on ableton-guys, do something NOW!!!
