Un-Quantizing CC Data

Ok, so I'm trying to record me playing my UC-33e live, and no matter what I turn off, it seems all my CC data keeps being quantized, leaving me with not curves but peaks. What gives? I'm trying to turn off Record Quant, Global Quant, Snap to Grid, etc. What am I missing? I'm sure it's obv., but...
Thanks in advance...

Anyone? This is almost an embarrassing question, but I've never really done serious MIDI control w/ Live until 6...

Yeah, I wanted to answer but I can't figure out exactly what you mean.
First off, don't expect to see curves, at least not until a future version of the program. A 'curve' in Ableton gets represented as a certain number of linear approximations.
It seems to write more points the slower you are moving a controller. i.e. if you make a huge quick fader move, it will probably just draw a steep line with only one or two breakpoints along it.
I've never seen automation being quantized, or having any relation to the grid.
Can you provide more specifics or better yet a screenshot?

That's exactly what I mean, thanks.

That makes sense, but what's weird is that while I'm recording, it shows a much more detailed representation of what I'm doing -- it's when I stop recording that it appears to quantize.
Are we sure there isn't some kind of setting I'm missing here?

Well, now I see what you mean! I don't usually watch it while it's recording and actually I guess I more often manually edit envelopes.
I wouldn't say that it is quantizing, I mean it's not lining it up to a grid.
My guess is that it analyzes the resulting breakpoints and if they fall within a certain percentage of deviation from a line, then it removes them for efficiency or tidyness. Maybe it's advantageous for processing to have a longer linear transition - easier to calculate or something
Of course I'm just guessing
Does Live Quantize CC Data?

I'm still a bit perplexed by this. I'll readily admit that it doesn't seem to make an audible difference, but as I record CC data from my MIDI controller, Live def. records countless points -- yet, when I hit stop, it turns these long curves into three point peaks. What gives?
