Vocal Effects Box - Automation

Hey guys,
Ok here is a cool little trick for the singers out there. If like me when you perform live you play the same arrangements for songs here is what I do.
Keep in mind for my setup I use an M-audio firewire 410 which im sure u know has plenty of outputs
-I load up my recording that id do with my band in my studio...easy enough
-I will take away any of the istruments that we play live ie guitar, bass, drums.
-I set up a click track for my drummer to have in headphones (make sure your drummer knows the order perfect or this tip could backfire)
-With all the automation of effects still on track 1 which is my vocal track, I plug my live microphone into my audio interface and set track track 1 into its monitor state.
-then my drum sets off the click and plays to the track like it was on the recording, this way all the effects I used on the recording are now automated to go off in the EXACT same place they were on the recording.
-Thats it
I know there are better ways of getting this to work but this is how we do it live.
-EXTENSION- If your drummer is not so sure on the order, in his headphone mix you can pre record your self telling him which section is coming in.....IE " Breakdown section 1,2,3,4" We have done this before and it works a treat.
Hope this helped someone.
