I am having trouble sometimes putting Reason in a loop with Live. Sometimes is works pefectly, but sometimes it will just run out of the loop... very strange since it works sometimes and sometimes not. I have had this problem on 2 different PC's of mine... Live3

on a powerbook os 10.2.7 : my looping problem is a bit different : Reason will loop OK, the first pass will play, the 2nd will not, the 3rd will play,…
Guess I have to work only on the odd loops :-))

weird

yesterday, the loops was playing.. then no sound... then it started looping again.

last week at was at a dj's house and demoed a song with Reason and Live but it didn't want to loop...

I feel a little bad... I didn't had the time to test Live3 during the test-period, so now I find out about some issues... but I recieved some email and a couple of things will be solved soon I think. hopefully it will get on the same level as 2.1.2

Hi all, I'm getting the reason intermittent loop thing as well(pc) there's lots of other bugs too, the FX settings getting lost, requiring a song re-open to cure being the most annoying. Trouble is this software is SO damn brilliant that I almost don't care. I've not used anything else since getting it.
I'd love to hear how the bugfixes are going and roughly how long it will be till the first update though. It must be a nightmare for the programmers what with all the different OSes to code for.

Cheers

M

well bugs can be very annoying... I hope Ableton can solve them all of course! but agreed, Live is cool

rewire not wired ?

Maybe OT, because this doesn't relate directly to Live, but I can tell you that Reason rewired to DP 4.11 works… to a certain extent. When I want to record Reason's out into DP, I have to open Reason on an aux track, the assign the outputs of the aux to a bus, then set an audio track to record from that bus. The problem is that I cannot hear what I'm recording while it's playing, though the reason's output seems to be recorded properly.
The mysteries of rewire are unfathomable !
By the way, yesterday, Reason looped properly with Live… I'll see what today will be !

rewire

well rewire2 seems to be fine. using it in traction works fine (reason and live at the same time). in cubase and sonar it's working okay as well.

live 3 is having a problem with Reason in rewire-slave mode.

DP might have a problem too...

but in this case it Live3 which is causing the problem, not Reason.

I'm having the same phenomenon. What is happening is that Reason's input will loop for the defined length but will drop out for that same length and then come back in on the one, predictably. I've also noticed that this doesn't happen all of the time. It can be cool sometimes it's given me ideas for breakdowns and such, but it's pretty annoying when your just trying to tweak a short loop. I see that Ableton hasn't responded to this query. This is an obvious across the board bug. Has anyone else made any discoveries concerning this problem. Reason and Live are a match made in heaven, if heaven is in Sweden I guess... I hope they figure it out soon.

yes, that's it!

yes, that's exactly what is happing. I hope Ableton is working on a bug-fix for this. rewiring with Reason is what do a lot of the time as well.

Hi people,

sorry for letting you wait. Here's what I found out.
Live 2.0 users please try Live 2.1. It is far better in this respect.
Live 3.0: We are trying to fix it at the moment but due to its bad reproducability this can take a while

I think it happens more often if you hit play in Reason to start the loop instead of Live?

Good observation, I have noticed that. In Reason the transport stops following also and the play light won't go off.
