hey folks, i'm looking for a new controller, and i was considering a axiom 49 or maybe a remote sl. one of the things i dont like about the the sl is it not having a traditional spring-to-middle pitch bend. how are the SL owners out there dealing with that? how is it adjustable?

I'm pretty sure that it does have a spring to middle pitch bend, but you can disable the spring if you want (there's a switch on the underside).

Hmm.. I can't find this in the manual now, but I'm sure I did...

It does have a bipolar or 'spring to middle' pitch bend as part of the two axis joystick. Modulation is the vertical axis and pitch bend is the horizontal axis.
