Doh, I didn;t realize there was an update out. Anyway, just did mine, working fine so far. All I can suggest is trying to update it again.

it's for sure the upgrade problem. i have tested the card in a 3 different computers - all the same, gliches, horrible crackles...
so do you recommend to upgrade it again? will ultralite allow for that?

Did you do a reset after upgrading? Hold down two of the buttons - don't remember which - while turning it on? I think the upgrade instructions suggest this.

after? nope...
it's suggest a "power cycle" what thta mean...?
these buttons are Page Setup/Cursor but they suggest when you want to upgrade, nothing about restart...
have you upgraded?

Yep. MBP core duo 2ghz. Have you tried running it off wall power?
Also, try disabling the network on your machine.

ok, i have replaced the unit in the shop for the Saffire. they gave me this box as a temporary audio card becuase there is nothing left...
hey Saffire is very cool! i have read some bad opinion here about it but till now sounds really cool. sound IS MUCH rounded, smooth then ultralite. the box is well done, not really motu-china-hi fi style.
saffire control pannel is unclear. i have spent half an hour to get some audio from it but now i know how it works. i will test it for 2 weeks and maybe i will keep it:)
funny, i have to wait 3 months for the next new ultralite from motu support. no comments...
