Reposting this with no request for contributing to the prize money. I am putting up my own money for it. Just enter and have fun!

The Challenge.

Make a music track using only This.

Details:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Download the .wav file. (Its a pure saw wave from my MiniMoog).

2. Create something musical with it. An entire track, a Live rack, what ever. Do anything you want to it, add effects, mangle it in anyway- turn it into a drum kit. But ONLY use the .wav- no other sound sources.

3. Upload it somewhere and post a link to it on this thread.

4. I will add your name to the top of this thread- with a link to your song/project copied to there.

5. February 18th, I will create a poll and we (Live Forum users) vote for the creation that we think is the best. I will tally up the votes by Feb 21st.

6. The winner gets paypal'ed the prize money!!!!

I am putting up $50 dollars as a prize.

Good luck and have fun!

Awesome Shoma. I am hoping to get this going- and them perhaps see if we can get some sponsors on future contests- I just think since this forum is all about Live- and creating music- lets CREATE some music... friendly competion is always a good motivator. :)

Hmm, I wasn't really making a comment on my own coolness or lack there of. :)

I guess the cred would be that you could say that you won... ?

Cool, yeah I dig the idea. Was just tryin to instigate and stuff. :D Just some questions, is resampling allowed? and If we made a rack as our creation would we make a song or piece out of it or just upload the rack?
Peace,
Michael

same question re resampling? im not up to speed on racks yet and dont have sampler so might need to record effects on this

Yup resampling is fine.. do what ever you want to get sounds out of it.. just only use the Minimoog saw .wav to 'generate' the original sound. run it through any effect you want. Distort it, cut it up, repitch it, resample it..
