My mp3s are popping!!

I'm using Live 6.0.3 with Vista Premium and my mp3s are popping during play, as if cpu is maxing out, although its no more than 2/3%.
I'm running on a Sony Vaio laptop with 200GB / 2GB ram and hardrive.
Have only just upgraded to 6.0.3.
Can anyone help ??
