I have a recurring problem. When I try to record midi input, live will freeze after about 20 bars worth of recording and then be unresponsive for maybe 30 seconds. After this, it starts up again, with the midi data recorded; however, either there are a whole lot of note drop outs going on, or after a bit of time it will simply be repeated notes for a long time until it registered that I wanted it to stop. I can still play the midi controller (a trigger finger) while this is happening. Any ideas? I am using windows XP, a echo indigo IO soundcard, and live 6.0.3 m-audio edition.

Also - does anyone know how precise live's sequencer is in terms of midi input? I don't necessarily want to be using quantization, and was wondering if there was any way to get around this.
