Hey, I just started doing live DJ sets with Live 5, using a midi keyboard as a control, and I have two questions:

1. Is there a way to set a MIDI trigger to repeat the previous x beats of a song? Like if I want to stutter something without having to click in at the point I want it to stutter from. (I can't figure out if there's a way to get Nudge to only nudge on the beat, and I am okay with the previous "x" beats being the global quantize.)

2. Is it possible to set a trigger for multiple locations within a clip? like say I want to be able to start a clip, but I also want to be able to make the clip jump to a predetermined point with a trigger, like where the bassline comes in or something.

Thanks, and sorry if these are huge repeat questions; finding stuff in this forum is tough with all the different ways people explain their problems.

#2. No, you can't have multiple cue points in a track. You need to create several instances of the same clip (ctrl+D) and then set your cue points, one in each instance of the clip.

You can achieve the stutter by using dummy clips triggering 0/100% toggle of wet/dry on beat repeat effect. Look for the dummy clip tutorial in the sticky tips & tricks thread.

For something more simple, the way I do it now is view the clip at the bottom and just click in the waveform to where I want it to go back to. I just want a midi command that will say "go back [global quantize amount] from current play location" so I don't have to go into the clip view and click manually to repeat a short segment.

To the best of my knowledge that functionality doesn't exist currently. Which is why you have to make it an audio effect for it to be dynamically applyable.
