Let's just say I was a goth in a past-life before discovering dance/rave music in the early 90s ....
I went through a phase of trying to be a Robert Smith. Fortunately I grew out of that when I started raving. There's no way I could fit into my black PVC pants anymore anyhow.
cheers !

You are soooo on the money ...Tone Deft wrote: Disintegration was the last Cure album.
It started going pear-shaped from Wish onward I reckon.
Wish was OK, but things like "Friday I'm in Love" was just a bit too much for me to deal with. That's OK ... I haven't followed any Cure albums since and they'll always have a fond place in my heart.
Disintegration was the most epic of albums.
It was fantastic to crank up at full blast when a big thunderstorm was about to hit. Great doom generation music! Just thinking about that album gives me shivers. I've little doubt this album had a profound effect on my music ever since - from my early 90s trance days through till drum and bass and breaks .... Even the more pop sounding stuff I've done of recent years. There's hints of my daggy old goth self.
Disintegration is essential listening for any synth/pad/atmos loving electronic music head ... fantastic!
As Kyle says on the 'Mechastriezand' episode of Southpark back in Season 1, "Robert Smith Kicks Ass!".
Cheers !

Always despised the goth scene, good looking girls, who want pussy junkie boys. As somebody who got into industrial and art damaged music early on, I was pretty upset to see the goth scene swallow the industrial scene, Marilyn Manson is most peoples idea of an industrial group, sadly enough........ it's all Skinny Puppys fault, great band bad influence on the industrial music scene IMO. Really, industrial used to be art, not fashion, big difference there.Tone Deft wrote:Oh to be as goth as thou. err, I meanjasefos wrote:TOO MANY to pick from ....

Oh there aren't any Cure songs I don't like...but there are 4 or 5 I would have to choose from to call my "favorite"...I'd have to add these to my top list in addition to Hot, Hot, Hot:jasefos wrote:TOO MANY to pick from ....jb61264 wrote:Very hard to choose between about four or five, but if I have to it would probably be "Hot, Hot, Hot"
