Impulse samples cutting each other out?

I feel like there is something i'm missing here, but I can't figure it out:
I'm finding occasionally that triggering a sample in Impulse with midi will cut another off before its decay has elapsed.
It won't happen every time, but enough to be noticable - particularly with cymbals. For example, with the Ellington preset, if I continually hit the ride sample, quickly followed by the tom sample, the tom will cutoff the ride around 30-50% of the time.
It also does the same with the crash sometimes, so I don't think it's an issue with either gate/trigger settings.
I can also recreate the problem with my Axiom25, a MPD16 and even my computer keyboard, so i'm pretty sure it's not a problem with my controller.
Finally, the cymbal won't cutoff if I record a midi clip and play it back, so it seems like some midi issue is in there somewhere.
Anyone else come across this? I'm using Live 6.0.5 by the way.
Cheers.

Slot 8 has a unique button in the lower left hand corner of the Impulse interface marked LINK. Engaging this makes slots 7 and 8 cut each other off. Its intended for open/closed hihats. Is this what you're hearing?

I don't think so - although the cymbals in Ellington are in slots 7 and 8, the tom is in slot 4.
It also seems to be happening regardless of whether the link button is engaged or not.
This isn't specific to the Ellington preset either - I can get the same result with other presets.

Is anyone else able to reproduce this? I'm interested to find out if this is specific to my own setup, or an actual bug in Live.

That's sort of a bizarre bug to get introduced into a piece of the software that has been around since version 4!!!!
Wonder if it happened because they were trying to work on the clicking that people report with impulse???
Good looking out southernsteppa.

Hi,
I could reproduce the issue and reported back. thanks for your help!
though: I tried reproducing by having a MIDI clip playing, and it did not happen. Only happens to me when I'm actually playing the notes from my computer keyboard, with Monitor set to IN. Can you confirm?
Regards,
Amaury

Brilliant. I just crashed the beta for the first time.
I knew there was faul play. Now I know who to blame
Anyway, Live crashed while i was setting up an Arp to double-check this.
It behaves that way with the Arp too. I'll get back to you in a sec to confirm it also happens with clips. I already know it will...
Live and me go way back..
I would send the crash pack. But I tried this in a set that was part of a new Live pack. So i cant mail it, it's too big and it contains a few months of work

Live had been running for about 7 hours without restarting...
Anyway, checking out the clip thing...

confirmed with midi clips too. Though it's a bit odd.
It either happens or it doesn't.
Retrigger the clip with the spacebar... You'll get there

Hey Abes - any advance on this being sorted out? I've emailed support quite a while ago, but no response as yet.
I'm using Impulse heavily in an upcoming performance and this is really starting to do my head in...

Yeah. Drum Racks do the job just fine.
