Hi,

I'm creating some synth instruments and I'm doing it by running multiple Simplers at the same time, keeping them all on rec.

Question: How can I change all incoming midinotes on one midi channel to, say C4? I'd like to use one of the Midi/Simpler channels to just add a small attacky hit to the synth, so this sound should not be pitched.

I'm using Ableton Live 5, and I realize that in the new version you can assign multiple functions to the same key, which I think would solve the problem.

I feel that this shouldn't be so hard to do, but I can't figure out how. I don't have an old-skool midi experience. Could I program this thing with Reaktor5? Haven't use it that much, but I'm using a school's Mac that has it, if needed.

It can be done with a series of Scale plugs.

A series of them each transposing an octave to a certain octave, say the 4th octave as in your example

Followed by one to remap all notes to C

I had to move the lowest C on each of the first scale plugs to C#, for some strange overlapping / double processing at the C notes.



If you had Live 6 / Sampler it would be much easier, as there's a scale parameter on Sampler which you could just turn to 0% for that attack sample.

It just doesn't work in Live5, though.
So maybe somebody could take a capture window or explain it how it works in the Covertoperators version.

The scale thing is working, anyway.

The Covops setup is for Live 6 racks.
It's basically the same thing as using the scale plugin.
But it's designed so that you can have more then 1 simpler in a track that receives a "C3".
