Live 3: Unexpectedly Quit!

I just recently upgraded from 2 to 3 and today, after a couple of minutes into my session, Live just vanished, with an error message saying "The application Live has unexpectedly quit, no other programs have been affected".
I re-open it, work for a few seconds, same thing, over and over. What's going on?

This happens to me all the time as well and it's very annoying. It also happens to me when I go to exit Live. As the program is closing it gives me that error. Every time I see the spinning rainbow wheel I start praying...
I have sent a dozen error logs and crash logs to Ableton and they said they have someone looking into it....

Just now I experienced a new bug.
First, I got one of those Windows-style of error messages telling to restart my Mac by holding down the power button, with a bunch of coded letters and numbers at the bottom of the box (all it needed was the blue background).
Upon restart, I reboot Live, start working again, went to mute a track and everything froze for a few seconds. Afterwards, Live seemed to respond to mouse clicks except it wouldn't play, not from hitting the spacebar or the play icon in the toolbar, the playmarker was stuck - no dice, yet everything else seemed normal, I could zoom in and out, the usual...
Weird. I'm so drained from all my computer problems of the day I just want to kick back and smoke a fatty. If only I still did that stuff....

hat,
this has happened to me to, but in various other programs as well (e.g. Logic 5 and 6). I ask myself if OSX really is the shit as far as modern OSs are concerned.
I get the reboot message too, it appears in various languages.
This doesn't happen as often as on your machine though.
Some people recommend to "Repair Permissions" in such cases, have you tried that?

ive had exactly the same thing happen, but only occasionally. ill quit live 3 after a session, then just as it disappers, i get a message saying live unexpectedly quit with a type 2 warning. but i quit it myself.
plus, sometimes, not so often mind, live will unexpectedly quit for no reason while im working, but showing the same message. is it a memory issue???
cheers!

Hello Darren,
This may be more related to a corrupt preference file or wrong permissions. As suggested, run the "repair permissions" from Apple“s disk utilities and/or get the "Disk Warrior" application from
http://www.alsoft.com/DiskWarrior/ which i can highly recommend in such cases.
Best,
Ch. Kleine

Hmm...it just occured to me that when I upgraded to 3, I never bothered trashing my Live 2. Could this be the reason, some kind of cross-file misfires? As suggested, I'll go ahead and repair the permissions, hope it helps.
