Rewiring Cubase to Live for Live Performance

Hello there,
I'm brand new to Live and have a demo, but before I buy a serial I would like to know how to make best use of Cubase hooked up to Live; Basically, I work on my own and I am recording songs as you'd expect but if I wanted to play a gig I wouldn't want to just stand there with a guitar, I still want my bass, drums, drum machines, synths, samples, glitches and anything else I've ever used. How would I be able to get those from Cubase to Live or operate them in Cubase using Live? bare in mind I don't want it running like a backing track, I want to improvise around things, repeat certain bits and be able to keep it all in time (I know Live has a tap tempo that doesn't alter the pitch of audio) but I haven't a clue how to make my recordings run inside Ableton

Any help would be nice, I know it's frustrating when a newbie comes along asking questions that everyone else probably knows the answer to

Cheers
James

I dont' believe you can re-wire into LIVE In such a way. I have tried too.

Best bet is to Render 8-16 bar sections of your tracks out of Cubase and import them into Live to be able to trigger, mute, automate, on the fly.

Yep! you're going to have to render down into WAV. or AIFF files and then launch them with a controller in Lives session view. If you want to Rewire the tracks will only be able to play as backing tracks, to do this Open Live first then Cubase and it should show up in live as an audio input, thats if Cubase can run not being the Host?

oh right! that's what I've been doing (except each track instead of sections) I was just kind of hoping there would be another way :( well then, it looks like I'm going to have to convert an entire album to samples!
