Ableton Forum

I have tried going through the browser in Ableton, I have tried draging and droping, I just can't work out how to use them.
I want to use these samples because they sound much nicer than drum sounds I have in Ableton

One is called Orkester and the other Sound Bank

they are reason refills not samples. Export them from Reason or open them with the refill unpacker (posted on here recently i think)

You can only open refills in reason so open the samples in reason and export them, then open in Live.

If you dont know how to do that you need to go back to the manual.

err... first of all open Reason and go to redrum or dr. rex loop player (for .rex files) click on the folder envelope and from the windows/mac file browser select the soundbank and then it will bring up the individual files - find ones you like, put them into the reason sequencer, export as loops, then import the audio loops into Live.

If this sounds a bit much then browse for some other audio samples or buy some sample CDs from the likes of BigFish Audio or zero-g etc which are usually .wav or .aiff files that can be directly opened in Live.

Or even trawl the internet for freebies, such as the freesound open source project

register for free and they have a whole bunch of samples of drum loops, guitars, ambient soundscapes among other things.
