Got guitar GAS and have so many softsynths that come close enough to what I need for my purposes that the Ti is a bit of an extravagance.

Don't let the hardware fanboiz deter you. Selling my hardware has really refined my production methodology in a good way.
Sure, I sometimes think I should have kept this piece or that piece of gear, but it's usually when I'm comparing myself to other producers, and I get these consumerist urges to have hardware gear only to show off. It's an emotional crutch.
Best of luck selling!

Thanks! I dearly love it but with a computer full of soft synths and an urge for some new wood in my studio (

) it needs to go.

Yeah, I view hardware collection like Hotrodding was in 1950's midwestern USA. There are people who might judge you as less of a producer for not having "gear", but they're just people who've bought into the "more gear = bigger dick" line of thinking.
With software you'll find your portability goes way up (jam sessions in your buddies flat perhaps?), you're less susceptible to a power outage (if you're using a laptop with USB / Firewire powered controllers), set up time and tear down time is easier for gigs, and you'll actually have room to set up your kit in a cramped DJ booth.
You'll find no midi notes dropped, you'll find no midi latency issues, you'll find no wacky midi sync issues, and you'll find that your whole setup can be saved with "Ctrl-S" as opposed to saving a half dozen individual patches, etc.
All in all, the pluses are heavy.
I should shut up though, I'm not convincing anybody to buy yer synth!

But I thought the Virus TI was supposed to "act" like a software pluggin? Shouldn't the "just press CTRL-S" still apply?

David, everytime I see you post I think of my sister. Danny McIntyre. She's into fashion design though, not producing.

I fell into that trap. It is nice having a rack full of flashing lights and I really enjoyed messing around with hardware - it brings many positive aspects to a track. But I changed from a Powermac to a MacBook Pro and found that I was getting frustrated with projects which tied me back to the hardware. However, the Ti is the last piece of my hardware to go (Monomachine and Nord G2 were first in that order) and I am REALLY going to miss it. Superb bit of kit and teknobryan is correct - it has total recall. Any patches created or modified in a project are saved with it just like a soft synth.
I should also add that my abilities and volume of output are not up to doing it justice - soft synths are enough for my limited tweakings.
