Vista problems with Indigo I/O

I am a professional DJ. Unfortunately I bought a new laptop running Vista. I'm getting a lot of problems.
Here my system:
Toshiba Satellite, Vista home premium 32bit
Intel core 2 T5200 1.60 Ghz
RAM 2046 mb
Echo Indigo I/O, driver 7.0 (Vista ready)
Edirol PCR, driver 6.06 (Vista)
audio on board: realtek high definition with SR
Video: Nvidia geforce go 7300.

I'm running Ableton Live 6.05

I want to say first that I cleaned the system try from all the shit, including Norton, but the sidebar.
Anyway I got nearly one giga of RAM free for Live.

I set the Indigo driver to "pure wave", the other way (WDM) was worse.

Still I can hear sometimes small cliks, small interruptions of the audio and, worse than even, considering my job, imperceptible slowing down in the timing.
It should be noted that Live displays just 3% of use of the processor. No alerts about hard disk reading problems.

I'm going to buy a licence of XP, where everything worked quite well.
But I'm really really angry. I'm going to play tomorrow with my old laptop, still working fortunately (running Live 5.2).
regards

mauriziodami,

Have you already tried the ASIO driver for the Indigo I/O?

Or is there no ASIO driver for Vista available from Echoaudio?
We could not yet test the driver, so therefore my question.

Regards,
/Alex

The Indigo I/O driver I use is the latest released by Echo. It is made for Vista. Live uses this Asio driver when running.

At the present the situation is going a bit better because I unistalled the Side bar. Anyway, still I have problems.
I think the shit comes from Vista. This operative system runs the hard disk all the time, even when you don't do anything.
So, few minutes ago, I started the session and the audio interrupted for few seconds for 2 times, because Vista was writing some shit in the hard disk. Impossible to use it for DJing.... really bad, I have 3 gigs this weekend, and my old laptop is almost 4 years old.... still working well fortunately.

Try upgrading to 6.06b. I have a very similar setup to what you have and all my Ableton Vista related issues were resolved after upgrading.

I upgraded my Echo Driver to version 7.0 and Ableton is fine, but other apps have issues. There is a requirement that all audio apps need to be set to the same sample rate or you'll have issues. That's vague I know, but there wasn't much information in the driver release notes.
