File Browser shows no mp3 files

Hello,

I just got Live Lite 5 M-Audio Enhanced Edition. After install, I tried to browse to some mp3 backing tracks to use and no mp3 files would display in the File Browser.

I upgraded to Live Lite 6 M-Audio Enhanced Edition, thinking it may have been an issue with 5 and the upgrade was free. I still cannot see any mp3 files in the File Browser. Also, I opened every View option I could find and could not drag and drop a file to any window.

Could someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong? I'm new to digital recording and feeling a little lost...

Thank you!

The lite versions (one of which is the m-audio enhanced version) do not allow mp3 playback. You will have to upgrade to the full version of Ableton Live for that - or try the demo.

The reason is most likely that most djs could make do with 4 tracks of mp3 playback in Live, and thus not upgrade to the full version.

Thanks for the info - that certainly stinks. Wish the manual said something about that; it makes no mention of mp3 files not being supported. Guess I'll keep using my old recording software.

Thanks again!
