Am I being stupid? Midi Presets on Alesis Photon X25

I have an Alesis X25 Midi Controller and Audio Interface.
It has a few knobs on it, but I've given up using them because the only way I can figure out to use them is to (in EVERY single project) use live's midi-mapping function for every single track parameter I want to edit. This is extremely tedious. I was wondering if there are pre-programmed presets that I can automatically load up- so like knobs 1-8 control volume on tracks 1-8. Play button plays, stop stops etc.

At the moment I can create a preset using the X25's onboard menu, but as soon as I load a new live set the preset stops working.

How tedious...is there a solution??

Anyone?

The X25 has presets loaded onto it, and there is one called "Live"
but it does bugger all when I load it up.

What is the fault?

Can't you just create and save an empty live set with your midi mappings and use it as a template for any new sets?

Isn't Photon x25 supported for Live's instant mapping?

Live auto assign the photon like the uc-33 and ect.

To use the photon template, you have to load the template as a live set (empty) and disable the live auto mapping function for the device.
