help with pops and clipping while using vsts

Hi guys, I have tried searching, but the amount of posts to wade through is rediculous. I have already finished a six pack looking for the answer, so I'll just post My question.
I'm having trouble with clipping when I use vsts such as Stylus RMX and Zebra2. They seem ok and stable for a bit, but them start clipping when ever they are turned on. The moment i turn them of my clipping goes away.
I'm only using about 30-40% CPU, so I dont understand.
My set up is x-station as controler/sound interface in through USB, Virus ti desktop into that. I run this on a P4 3.2 dedicated music machine with 1GB ram and am using Live 5.2.
I can run these plugins for a short while before they start having this effect, but once I get this i have to restart my computer only to get a few minutes of non clicky performance.
This only happens with those 2 heavy plugins.
Any quick fixes or setup suggestions would be greatly appreciated
