Problems with Absynth 4 upgrade in Live 6

After upgrading from a ppc to an intel mac, I made the jump from Absynth 3 to Absynth 4. (lovely!) Alas, when loading a Live set that used Ab3, Live doesn't load Ab4. Instead, it says: _Failed to load VST "Absynth 3." The VST Plug-in could not be located. Please check your File/Folder Preferences._
Ab4 is present in my VST and AU Library folder (as a synth and an effect) but older songs do not default to loading it.
Is there a way to remedy this in lieu of manually replacing Ab3 with Ab4?...and trying to remember which patches I used? (no, i didn't always make note of it. dang!)
