Another problem (see below) is that my USB midi keyboard (just an eKeys 49), whilst showing as a working USB Audio Device in Windows, will not be recognised by Live on my laptop but is happily seen by Live on my desktop. I am routing it through the midi in on my 0404 usb but would like the flexibility of just plugging it in my laptop - am I missing something?
