With min, max, and amount of randomness. Oh yes, as a command, not using the plug in

Say you programmed out a drum loop in midi using the QWERTY keys on your laptop. With this function, you'd select all the notes in the midi editor, then right click and choose "randomize velocity". This would open up a little dialogu box like the apply quantize one where you could set the max possible velocity, minimum possible velocity, and the amount of randomization in between these values.
Mainly because it's a great way to get more feel into drum parts, they don't sound so static.
I used to have logical editor presets made for this in SX, it's a real time saver.

aah, ok.. got it..
but you mean to apply this on a specific selection of notes right?
otherwise you could use the Vel plug ofcourse..

b.t.w.
this request also shows the need for more MIDI utility devices..

Like I said, as a command, not a plug in.

Would love to see it for timing shifts too, sort of a reverse quantize.

I would really like to have this too, to give drums and rhythm parts a bit more sex.
