hi guys,

I was really convinced that sending demo was useless, I always thought that you have to know the guys, maybe get some connections, just sending demo doesn't quite make it.
Your e-mail/CD/whatever just ends up in the pile and that's it.
Anyway, I sent some demos on monday and got some answer like "we like the tracks but they doesn't fit on our label" so I realized I just need to catch the right label and the deal is done.
And so it has been!
A label came back to me asking me if I would like to release my tracks with them, which I obviously accepted.
I won't tell the name of the label yet since we only had a first contact like "OK we do the record with your tracks" but haven't met yet to discuss details, but it's definitevely gonna happen,it will be a not too small label based here in zurich.
So in few months I'll be releasing a record, my first record deal.
I'm really excited, just wanted to share my joy with you.
When the record will be availabe I'll post links.

Congrats, that how it was for my first signing too. It was on a local label for you too, Ritmic Records.

Although, out of the 800+ demos I've sent out over the years, that was the only time it actually worked

and yes, sending demos works. and i guess it might even work better now since more ppl rely only on myspace to do the work. so A&Rs at labels must receive less demos than before....

so, should I shame myself for being the lucky bastard who sends 10 (!) demoes and the day after has already a reply, which is positive?

we even almost met a couple of weeks ago when you have been doing studio sessions with cosili, I was hanging with him early that day.
Unfortunately I had no time to wait for you, next time you'll be in zurich I'll pop in.

yes we had a few late starts in Zurich due to the madness of the weekend...

Congrats dude! It's always great when someone gets signed. Do your best to protect your interests. We all wish you much luck ahead.
