Ableton Live Plugins on new Macbook Pro

Hey all,
I just installed Live Lite 6 on my new macbook pro and am unable to get any of the plugins working. I am trying to use some free plugins available from MDA just to test out Live. I installed the plugins into my Audio>Plugins>Components directory as specified on the MDA site, and have tried multiple times to restart or rescan the directories from within Live, but it still will not show any of the installed plugins. I have also tried running Live in demo mode, but this doesn't change anything.
If I try to drop a plugin file directly into Live I get the following error:
"An error occurred while reading... Apparently, the document was created by a more recent, and incompatible, version of Live than this. [Unknown Compound Stream Type]"
So... er... any ideas? Thanks in advance!
