using my laptop's touchpad to control the filters?

how do I use my touchpad to control the filters? currently, I have to hold on to the left-click button while using the pad. not too intuitive....

we just figured this out the other day: double-click on the ball in the black filter field but instead of letting go after the second click, hold on and move the filter. understand? this is very useful, as you can make really small changes to the filter settings, just by bending your finger to one side or the other ...
