when using midi, there is some percussion sound coming over the speakers when i engage different midi signals. what i mean is this, i have ableton and padkontrol working, i have 5 midi tracks with sampler loaded and different clips created, , each with just one clip at very top, so its just a basic 5 track right now, and i have it set up so that i can engage and disengage each track with push of a pad on padkontrol, but, each time i do this, some strange percussion sound is being signaled as well, can anyone please tell me how to shut this off?

you may be inputting the midi from you controller on another channel which may be triggering a sample or instrument?
Also, on a more analogue level, maybe you banging the table is causing a bad connection to cause a loss of signal, which might result in a frequency making a short noise that coincides with your button push.
And along the same lines, if you have a computor with an open mic, check to make sure that it's not enabled, as well not going into ableton, the actual audio of the sound of the desk banging could be feeding back through the system.
good luck.
thank you but thats not it, any of those

open midi preferences
look at midi ports
some are activated and now deaktivate your computer internal midi port
in windows is it "microsoft gs wavetable sw synth"
so on mac i don“t know but could be the same problem
that was it, thank you
