Hopefully all our New Zealand Abes are steering clear of Mt. Ruapehu...some of the pictures of this are crazy...like a river of acidic mud flowing.

It's been building up in the crater lake for a few years now, since the last eruption. Spectacular, but there's been plenty of warning, no injuries, and surprisingly little damage.

Now, everyone pray for lots of snow on it this year. I want to get some quality boarding in...

Sounds like the basis for a PS3 game...snowboarding on a river of volcanic mud

Where is Mt. Ruapehu located? I was able to travel to New Zealand on my honeymoon and stayed about an hour away from Christchurch.

New Zealand is the most wonderful place on earth. I someday want to move there.

Middle of the North Island, about an hour's drive from Lake Taupo. It's pretty rural, not much population close by.
