I was just looking for a universal binary of something else and stumbled upon this and thought...hmmm if this was so easy why was it a $50 upgrade...ha ha

Yes, but as I recall, it was a $50 fee that was "rebated" when you bought LIVE6?

am I correct in my recollection?
