Hi,
In order to know why they are missing, I would need to know more about what manipulation you did with the Project, if it was 'collected and saved' etc...
In the search engine, which options did you enable? If you know where the samples are, select the right folder, and enable 'search folder' and 'fully rescan folders'. You should then be fine.

Hello All,
Just like jez3122, I can not retrieve my samples that are missing from my saved LIVE 5 sets because I've purchased and installed Live 6. I've been calling and calling the ableton help line (646.723.4572) at appropriate times , but that line has been busy for three straight days. I'm beginning to think it doesn't even exist!
Also, I've gone back and forth with Mr. Dom the help guy, but his answers seem like he put about two seconds of thought into them, and I'm finding the forums to be much more helpful.
I read Amaury's reply to jez3122 and thought this was my answer, but when I executed those directions, the samples could still not be found. I'm looking to recover only FIVE samples. They are:
Electronic Sythetic Bass 08.aiff
Electronic Club Dance Beat 004.aiff
Exotic World Beat 12.aiff
Looping Music Bed 05.aiff
Electronic Club Dance Beat 035.aiff
When I google these beats they do show up on some Mac website as a garage band loop, but I know that I originally pulled these beats off of my Live 5 samples library.
I'm desparate fellas. I want to hear my songs the way they were!!
feel free to call or reply

Hello Again,
By the way, I should have mentioned that I have already installed the compatibility pack and every other download off the Ableton website per the instructions of other forum users.

Hi,
these files are definitely not from Ableton. That they were in your Library, I don't doubt it, but the Library and the Live sets users create are 'open', means anyone can put anything in it.
The fact is that Ableton does not own these samples, otherwise we would be happy to give them back to you. I think you should look on the Garage Band side. Do you have an installation disk for GB?
Kind regards,
Amaury

Hello Amaury,
Thank you for your effort in this matter. I hope I'm getting close to finding the answer to my problem.
To answer your question, no, I don't own any Garage Band CD or anything like that.
I use Logic 7 as my main recording software, but I've checked and triple checked their audio loops for the tracks.
So your saying that these files are not owned by Ableton. So my error is the assumption that Ableton ever owned these tracks because I pulled them from the Ableton browser. OK, I can buy that.
So if you were me, what would you do, or who would you contact to recover the tracks?
Thanks,
THERaj

Hi,
I guess these loops are from a Jam Pack for Garage Band. There are Garage Band around here, so I would ask if anyone could make a search on his own computer to see from which pack they are, and then i would get the pack.

Amaury
