Normal or Glossy Display for MacBooks Pros?
Normal or Glossy Display for MacBooks Pros?
I'm gonna get a MacBook Pro and there is an option to get the display screen with a glossy widescreen display or a non-glossy widescreen display at no additional cost.
Apparently, the glossy version has greater color contrast. But there has to be a downside since the cost is the same for both versions. I'm worried that the glossy version will have glare issues, particularly when playing out live somewhere. Not sure if this is true.
Do you guys prefer 'glossy' or 'non-glossy'? Why?

I got the non-glossy screen, the glare was nuts on the gossy one IMO. Even in the Apple store I was moving my head around to see things due to glare from the overhead lights. Cool looking, just too much glare possibilities considering I use mine in clubs and such at times.

I dont think the glossy flavor is all that bad with glare. If I hadn't got my MBP while I was in design school, I'd have gone for the glossy myself. Like the poster above stated, if light hits your screen directly while in a club, either screen is rendered unviewable.
The colors look so much better with the glossy screen, which is reason in itself to get it.
