help OS X can't read quattro drivers in LIVE 3

My particulars - 800 MHz EMAC OS X 10.2.4, live 3, quattro
Couldn't get version 2 of live to work consistently in OS 9.1 so upgraded to LIVE 3 and OS X (pre panther I believe). When I started Live 3 it saw the old drivers apparently as quattro was there as a 2 channel option (it supposed to see 4 ) so I upgraded drivers and now it does not see quattro at all. i haven't gotten this group of hard and software to work right and have been working with it in my 'spare time' for 3 months. Would appreciate any help
