Tap Tempo problems with 5.2 and rewire

I have a problem with using the Tap-tempo feature.
When I tap the tempo with either a midi keyboard or click the tap-button with the mouse, the tempo is correct, but there is a slight delay before the playback starts (like one, two, three, four, (hold breath for 10 ms), one, two, three, four).
I'm using Live 5.2 and Reason via rewire on an intel iMac, and it appears that the problem is with rewire, although I haven't tested it that much.
Is this something that Ableton can do anything about, or is the solution to quit using rewire when tapping?
