hi

i went to use the manage library for the first time - i ve been getting on fine without it really but anyways....

when it had finished scanning the files it tells me there are nested files in the users/buzby/library/application support/ableton path and that managing nested files are not possible and to remove them to another location ...

i removed what i thought might be the nested files and all that are left are the folders containing clips and lessons etc but the same message still keeps coming up..

what is the nested file ? - i have tried the manual but þar er ekkert inni helvítis leiðbeiningar bók - nothing

cheers - buzby

Hello,

Nested is a term used to indeicate that projects are inside other projects, which prevents from being able to manage a project. The Library itself is a big project.

So, it must mean that you have manually dragged other projects into your Library. If you did so, put them somewhere else. A project is a folder with a subfolder named 'Ableton Project Info' inside. So, there should be one of these folder at the root of your Library, and no other.

Do the operation outside of Live as these folders are not visible in the Live Browser.

As a general rule, it is advised not to save projects inside the Library.

Amaury
