Producing A Radio Show. Thinking of Using Live to produce it

I've been thinking over the idea of producing a music / talk show and broadcasting it every week or so on the www.

I was hoping to get from feedback from anybody that has successfully done this sort of recording with Live and what tips you could offer me?

Recording mixsets are simple, but how do you integrate live talking in between tracks, and control the levels between voice and song?

Would you record it truly live, or pre-record any intermissions in clip format and then arrange the show as you would arrange a mixset???

I hope you understand what I am trying to do, and any advice is much anticipated.
