At my "Breaking Point"

I'm going f-ing nutz here...
For some reason I can't seem to create a "Breakpoint" on any of my automation lines. Docs say to simply double click on the red automation line, but nothing happens. I can't seem to create or delete a point on the line. I have a feeling its something stupid, but I can't seem to figure it out.

I really need to do this or else I'm going back to Acid on my Windoze box.

I'm running Live 2.1.2 on a G5 2 Ghz running 10.2.8

Thanks for the help...

Are you able to create breakpoints by recording automation?

For example, using the Arrangement window play a song or at least one track, hit the record button in the transport section and then try turning the speaker button on and off a few times on the track or do some radical panning or volume changes......in other words anything!

Then check the automation line and see if breakpoints have appeared on the track you have been playing with.

If they do appear try double clicking on one to get rid of it or try dragging it somewhere else to see if you can edit it.

you can only add breakpoints when you aren't in envelope drawing mode. if the pencil is highlighted above click it to deselect it, then double click on your envelope line.

also, if you are in draw mode you can draw a change in, deselect the pencil, and you'll see breakpoints creating the automation you just drew in which you can slide around when you exit draw mode
