Would someone please explain to me how the "follow Clip Action" works? and .... How can I specify how many times a clip should play?
I read the f*cking manual, but my dummy brain didn't absorb it.....
Feck..me....

AFAIK, you can't specify how many times a clip will loop.
There are workarounds, however. You can always consolidate the small loop into the number of times you want it to play, then trigger it once.
You can also stack multiple instances of the same loop in one track, and step from one to the next one until you get to the end.
I like to use a MIDI sequence to trigger video and lighting clips by MIDI-mapping notes to clips, then using the sequence to 'play' the clips with MIDI feedback.

but you can get pretty close - you can tell a looping clip to STOP after x amount of bars, or move on to the next clip that could have the next part of a sound.

I thought he wanted an automatic way for a clip to play X times, then stop or move on.
That WOULD be a nice feature - one more number in the looping section that specifies how many time the loop is to play before it carries on with the Follow Action.

eh? am I misundersatnding something here. i think that is what he wanted and that is what you can do with follow actions....loop set to 2 bars say......follow action set to 8 bars....clip loops four times and moves on or stops.....no?

No he wants to know how the follow clip action lets you follow the clip to and from the Session view to the Arrangement view I think...

in the 'launch' pane of the clip view, the number in the left box below where it says 'follow action' is the number of bars the clip will play for. the box below that number tells follow actions what to do after the clip has played that number of times. ignore the other boxes until this makes sense...
