LIVE CRASHES standalone when opening
P4 1.7 ghz 256 RAM Win 98SE
I downloaded the 1.5 demo and installed but have problems with LIVE crashing in standalone.
It works fine with Rewire and Cubase, but most times I open LIVE as standalone it freezes and causes my PC to freeze as well. I must do a hard reboot and each time it does the scandisk thing through all my 140 gigs of partitions (drag).
I then upgraded to directx 8.1 from 8.0a and that did not help.
I then uninstalled LIVe and reinstalled and still have the problem.
Odd thing is that every once and a while it will open and work fine??? But 9 times out of 10 it freezes. Each time it freezes before the program is fully loaded (gets stuck on the splash screen).
There is no mention of crashes on your site or in the forums???
Hope someone can help!

LIVE 1.5 FULL WORKS
Alex,
You'll be happy to know I just got LIVE 1.5 full (after updating 1.01 boxed) and it works flawlessly on my PC.
So that means it is just the 1.5 DEMO that is having problems.
Thought you'd like to know. Let me know if I can be of help.

figured it out - kinda
OK... it is definitely related to rewire.
I opened up Cubase but did NOT select any rewire channels for LIVE. Then I opened up LIVE and it gave me a warning dialog about REWIRE. I then closed Cubase and LIVE worked fine. I then closed and reopened LIVE standalone several times and now LIVE opens fine every time.
I bet once I use it with REWIRE and cubase again the problem will return, but at least we now know how to get LIVE back on track/

crash with 1.5
Salve
I have got a big problem with the 1,5 release.
if i start live , my system will have a major crash. Cannot do anything, just a power off new start. the 1.5 beta worked brilliant, but now?
foolowing things that i have done:
-removing reason 1.1 from the computer
live 1.5 will running
-comlete format c: session without luck
-starting reason as first, i recieve a
warning message but if i ignore that and
starting live, it works.
than i closed reason and live and starting live
and reason to use rewire, it works (sometimes)
think also, there is something wrong with rewire.

live_log.txt ALLOCATION ERROR
:!: i Just forwared a Live_log.txt file to SUPPORT. My system freezes and gets stuck on the Logo, having to do a hard Boot. Windows98 reports a ALLOCATION ERROR on the live_log.txt file itself. Seems the live program on startup is having problems reading this file. The message is "The disk's usage table allocates too much or too little space for these files. I renamed the live_log.txt to old_live_log.txt . The Live program creates another live_log.txt. When i try to open the old_live_log.txt then windows says the file is Too big to open in Notepad so then uses Wordpad to open the log file. i suspect this is the problem. THe log files grows to big to open properly, also when i read the old_live_log.tx i see a lot of garbage looks like computer code.
