BCR 2000 problem

Hi there,
I've recently bought a macbook pro and hooked my behringer BCR 2000 controller up to it.
All was going well untill yesterday evening. I was able to testdrive the setup a couple of times, in time for a gig this weekend. But now Live doesn't seem to receive any signal from the bcr anymore.
Bcr has power and is hooked up properly and Live detects the BCR. The signal's just dead. Like I said, I was able to use the bcr exactly as I wanted it up untill yesterday.
Any thoughts?

1. does the BCR appear in the midi tab of the options window?
2. can you check if your computer receives some signal from the BCR? (on windows there is a program called midiox that displays any midi data)
3. does the tiny square on the top right-hand corner blink when you turn a knob?
4. as a temporary solution, do you have a midi interface to which you could plug the BCR in midi mode?

1. yes, like I said. Live detects the bcr
2. is there an OSX equivalent? I don't have windows
3. no signal, that's exactly the problem.
4. hmm, maybe I could try hooking it up through my mbox soundcard. But does that make sense as Live detects a bcr each time I hook it up? so the USB cable does seem to work.
thx for the feedback

it's strange that live detects the BCR but that the square doesn't blink.
did you try with several presets of the BCR?
are you sure you set it on the right mode (midi/usb)?

Yes, the bcr worked well in exactly the same set up untill yesterday.
I'm hooking the bcr up to my old pc atm, to see if that still works...
edit: ok, bcr works perfectly on the PC. makes me think a setting on the macbook is the problem...

I've tried most combo's in the midi/sync menu and nothing worked.
Are there any bcr users in here who could tell me what preferences they use in the midi/sync menu?
perhaps there are other things I should look for?

well, normally you only need the Remote In and Out to be siwtched on.
but if you don't see the midi activity square blink, it is useless.
to me, it seems like there is either something filtering midi on your OS, or the BCR doesn't send data.
try to find a program that display midi data. i'm on pc, i can't help you more than that.

The problem's fixed.
I hooked up a small usb hub to attach a mouse together with my bcr and Live responded automatically. Signal seems perfect and all works well. Very strange, but hey. All is well

Just in time for the weekend...
