Cannot save file in 3rd party audio editor! Help!?

When I edit a sample in the Impulse with an 3rd party audio editor (Adobe Audition) and when I wanna save it, Audition says: "Cannot save. File Is probably in use by another application. Please close the app and save again"

I use the latest version of Ableton Live

What could be wrong? This is the first time I have this problem. But then again, this is the first time I edit a sample from an Impulse slot. The set is self contained. The file I wanna edit is located in the \Samples\Processed\Crop - directory. The sample does not appear on the arrangement, only in one Impulse.

Hello,

In order to be able to edit a sample in a third party editor, you have to set it offline in Live. Right click on the Impulse slot, and choose 'manage sample file. Now, in the list that opens on the right side, your sample is selected, click the 'edit' button. The sample is now offline, and if you've set your third party editor in the Preferences, it will open automatically.

Amaury

Hi,

While the Edit button is on for one of these samples, if you double click on the clip, does it say that the sample is offline?

What computer are you using? You may have to write to [email protected], providing these infos:
