What software would you buy again if you lost it all?...

I was thinking about this the other day as I was pondering what was absolutely necessary in my arsenal and wondering if anything could go. Just the regular, every-once in a while analysis we all tend to do to make we're not too bloated I guess.

Hypothetically, say, if you suddenly had to start all over from scratch, what would you actually go and immediately splurge on? I mean with current finances, what would you throw down on the plastic to have it back straight away?

It's an interesting question to think about, and I was a bit surprised at my conclusions actually, considering many of my favorites didn't make the cut.

Ableton is probably a no-brainer, but otherwise for myself, I think I would have to immediately get back:
-Zebra2
-Addictive drums
-Ohmicide
-Ik Multimedia's stealth plug (for the guitar plug-ins) - I don't actually have this, but 100 bucks beats shelling out for guitar rig or something...

And after a while, possibly wavearts power couple (trackplug/verb)-(cheap with education discount), and ableton's sampler.
And I'd be pretty darn happy.

I'm curious what you guys think would be your immediate repurchases...
?

Live

Korg Legacy Digital
Arturia Analog Factory / CS80V / Jupiter8V
Zebra 2
Reason
Soundforge or trade up for Wavelab
Voxengo plugins : Pristine Space reverb, Elephant mastering limiter, Gliss EQ, Voxformer vocal channel strip.
PSP mastering compressor
maybe Cubase, I still prefer to mix in it and use it for advanced audio and midi work plus scoring occasionally. Maybe after another release or two, I might be less keen. Live is my main compositional tool and I'm mixing more in Live recently.

probably what i have right now (see signature), except maybe Kontakt. Starting to think I dont really need it as much as I thought I did when I bought it.

Actually thinking of selling my license. Not sure

wow, leeds and aqua, you would seriously blow all that cash in one day?

I mean if I was starting from scratch, I'd love to have back my Logic, komplete 4, blue, massive, ohmies, izotope, synful etc., but if I had to buy it all at once, really I could get by with the three or four I mentioned and Live.

I would have no problem going in to debt to have back zebra2, addictive drums, ohmicide and some budget guitar amp plug. But it would take a while to go any further I think.

Maybe reaktor 5 at it's current reduced price too. Ya probably, kills alot o' birds with one stone.

Well I suppose technically I license it. Though sometimes I do pick it off my software/peach tree hybrid in my backyard... :P

oh, sorry i guess i misunderstood.

kind of a hard choice though, having to pick just ONE essential piece of software when most of what I have is well... essential to my work... except for Kontakt, which I'm seriously considering reselling :/

If I were hard pressed to pick out one or two essentials, I'd say i'd immediately buy back Live and Reason... or... Logic by itself

OK, if I had to prioritize it would be

Live
Analog Factory
Korg Legacy Digital
and Soundforge

there are plenty of good freebie plugs to keep me going while I save up for my other goodies,,,

and fortunately for me, I work full time in education so I qualify for educational discounts on all of the above, so long as I wasn;t planning on releasing things commercially, which I never do, my music is for free baby !! (well, y'know I have a hard time giving it away  )

Ya good call. 100 bucks to scratch digital files. It's a steal.
