Impossible to sync Jomox drumachine and Live! Need help!

Hi!

I ve just bought Jomox Mbase (analog bassdrum machine).

The trouble is that I create a midi pattern in Live and send it to the Mbase.

The result is that the Mbase doesn't sync properly at all : impossible to work with that!

i ve reduced audio buffer to max and my midi cable is 90 cm, which is I think short enough.

Any suggestions?

I've read in forums that Live still has troubles to sync with midi hardware so maybe there is no solution yet...

Is Cubase sx better for that task?

Maybe rewire is a solution?

Thanks for Ur answers :D

Charly

There is standard procedure like for any ext sound module explained in Live lessons better then I could do here.
One alternative is, bypassing all the midi sync problems. Since Mbase has no sequencer there is really no point struggling with latencies.
Find the sound you like, meaning customise the sound to your liking using a simple test midi clip - 1 measure of quarter notes. Record couple of versions, you can even tweak Jomox while recording. Choose the best and load Simpler or Impulse, in the later you can have as part of drum set or do BD only set. Later you can always replace the samples with something that fits better when the music is more complex.

Just a question : do you use it in conjonction with audio coming out of Live ? If so, maybe your problem has to do with Delay compensation, that you can modify down each track of the session view.

Sounds weird, I'm using XBase 09 with Live6 and have no latency issues at all. How do you mix the singnals together? Do you have an external mixer to do that, or do you route signal back to the computer via audiointerface? If you do the latter, the problem is more likely caused by the latency in audio monitoring settings. [/b]

you need to adjust your midi latency, and i found it's best to have live be the sync master - otherwise pdc won't be applied and each of your plugin chains can get seriously out of sync with the hardware...
