From my perspective, it's certainly nothing to get that excited about. There is nothing there that you can't already do with Live, but, it is what it is.

Wow...how about 4 years too late ~ the year I switched to Live. What a joke.kb420 wrote:Save Pattern as MIDI
I really wanted to like project 5 when it appeared, because I like options and competition. But sadly it seems to take all the things I like least about other apps.
It has that unpleasant interface that haunted Acid for so long, combined with the over-fiddly wee pseudo 3d instruments which lower the rep of Fruity Studio.

really looks amateur to me. In fact the fruity stuff is much better.
the thing is, I bet the underlying code is powerful and useful, but the way you have to interface with it made me delete the demo after about 2 days.
I'm spoilt by simplicity I guess.

Sonar is the best thing going for Cakewalk. P5 and Kinetic are very limited. I do like Dimension Pro, Rapture, and z3ta.
It would seem that they have done a lot to keep Sonar marketable, and they have severly neglected development of P5.
Even still, they do have strong loyalty from their P5 users, which is boderline psychotic, but "to each his own!".
