Selecting a track without a mouse?

Is there anyway you can highlight a track without using the mouse?
i.e. can I use arrow keys left and right to highlight a track and R to record.
Furthermore, can you record enable the selected track from a keyboard or midi control? Allegedly my m-audio keyboard is meant to be able to arm record by using button 9 (the button under the master fader) but it doesnt work.
Can I set a default amount of bars for a midi clip? (I want a 4 bar midi clip and have to keep adjusting the parameters everytime I insert one).
Can I insert a midi clip on a selected track without using the mouse? (i.e. keyboard shortcut or midi controller).
I want to be able to record a track and move to a next track without using the mouse (just like you do in Logic Pro or on an MPC).
anyone?
