Problem with sample preview

I dunno if anyone else has this problem, but I'm finding that when I click on a sample in the browser to preview it, the first few miliseconds are missing. This is not too much of a prob with loops and such, but I'm building my beats in the arrange window a lot using single drum samples. After the first audition of a sample (which previews ok) every other preview attempt is silent, or I only get the tail of the sample. I have to actually place the sample in the arrange window to hear what its like.
I'd be interested to know if this is a general problem or just related to my system. Everything else is fine.

Cheers

Yup, happens to me too. The attack of a kick drum will not sound, but if I wait a few seconds and preview it again, it's fine.

Thanks, it's gets pretty annoying after a while. i hope they get around to fixing it at some point.
Getting the prog to auto search for missing samples would be pretty handy too.

Cheers

Same thing here. Makes it hard to audition short samples. Could it have something to do with quantiation settings?

No, I'd not thought of trying that, but it makes no difference. It's a pain, I use lots of single shot samples and construct loops in the arrange window. I spose its good for the odd happy accident or two though, just whack a sample in there without previewing it.

Hi folks,

I think you are right so far that there is a problem with prelistening of short(er) samples. I noticed no problem on my mac but on my PC, maybe this is platform related. But my symptoms are that sometimes a really short sample (just a short kick drum or a short hihat) is not hearable at all. But the reason is probably the same.

We're work on that to get closer to the problem. So far I see no other workaround than to click twice on a sample to prelistening it again, sorry.

regards,
Alex

Hi Alex, samples preview perfectly on the first click only, after that it misses the sample start. Clicking twice makes no difference at all. Thanks for the reply, it's not too much of a problem. I get around it by having a track free to drag a load of samples into, then preview them that way.
