classic mode question

hi guys
i think i may need Your advice on one thing. My powerbook G3 that i was using for playing live just recently 'died', so i am planning to buy a new G4 iBook (cant afford new PBook) that i wanna use with Live. But, I am using Live ver. 1 which probably doesnt run on OSX, so the question is, will it run in classic mode then?
I know i know, the upgrade option. Yes, i surely go for that, but i will be kinda broke after buying an iBook, so, i'll have to wait with upgrading for a while.
I would really appreciate any kind of help
